Everyone remembers their first job. For KIPP NYC alumna Jeneen Huling, she’s landed exactly where she wanted to be after graduating from Ithaca College this year. Jeneen is learning the ins and outs of bank operations as a teller at CFCU Community Credit Union. Her goal is to become a bank manager, and ultimately start her own credit union.
While at Ithaca, where she majored in Business Finance with a Minor in Data Analytics, Jeneen helped other students with computer issues as an IT Technician, fundraised as a Student Development Officer, and served as a Peer Mentor for the Office of State Grants.
After graduation, Jeneen had a busy summer. She did a remote internship during the day with MJX, an NYC-based asset management firm. On certain afternoons, she worked at Five Below, the discount retailer. On most days, she did the overnight shift at Target. Jeneen is tireless and determined; she successfully managed the three positions at the same time.
Jeneen has been supporting herself independently since high school. With her tenacity and work ethic, coupled with the support of her KIPP Through College & Career counselors, Jeneen has gone “to and through” and is now pursuing the career of her choosing. Go Jeneen!
